In the meantime take a look at these other ways to get involved with CPL.

As convening leaders who hold the space for personal and systemic transformation, we are experiencing the unraveling of many of the structures that are woven through our society.

Covid 19 has surfaced both our deep connection to each other and to the earth as well as our vulnerabilities.  The pandemic along with environmental degradation, systemic racism, economic disparity, and political unrest have left many experiencing a deep sense of loss.  Together we will explore the how threads of grief and joy can be woven together to become our allies, our teachers during times of disruption.

Director, CPL Communities

Terry Chapman, D.Min., is a retired Presbyterian (USA) minister. Grief and Joy were constant companions during his 35 years of ministry. He walked with many people as a friend on the journey as they experienced all kinds of loss: loss of dreams, of loved ones and security to name a few. His longtime partnership with friends in Uganda served as a further apprenticeship in helping people navigate sorrow and loss. Terry has worked with Grief Rituals under the mentorship of Francis Weller and Carolyn Baker. He is also a Spiritual Director, a practice of helping people remember their essential identity and worthiness as children of God. As a member of the core team at Center for Purposeful Leadership he has practiced and taught The Art of Convening for many years. He is author of Sabbath Pause, a collection of meditations and poetry intended to help nurture a more contemplative and creative, less stressful life.

Author, Blogger, Life Coach

Carolyn Baker, Ph.D., is a longtime life coach and spiritual counselor who has worked closely with Francis Weller, author of The Wild Edge of Sorrow and the late Malidoma Somé, African shaman and tribal elder, from whom she learned to design workshops and trainings focusing on the necessary nuances of grief and loss. Her most recent writing, Undaunted: Living Fiercely Into Climate Meltdown, highlights climate grief and the sorrows attending the collapse of ecosystems, as well as strategies for developing emotional resilience on a planet in decline.
