What is the AoC Re-Envisioning Team?

A year ago, in December 2024, during the 20th year of The Art of Convening, CPL co-founder, Craig Neal, formed the AoC Re-envisioning Team (mentioned above) to "re-envision Art of Convening" with this invitation:

“You are invited to collaborate on what is next for the Art of Convening. They say there are times when new stars are born in our galaxy, and the brightest shining ones take their place in new constellations. You have been shining in your life and its times, trials, and triumphs, as well as modeling Love in Action in our CPL orbit!

We invite you to be part of a re-envisioning of the CPL constellation! You’ve been integral to the development of the AoC Trainings, Workshops & Courses, and together we will begin to envision the future of AoC.”

Join us on January 28 to discover what this year-long process has discovered and co-created that will fuel the future of The AoC and the CPL community for the next 30 years!

What emerged? A process unlike anything we’ve created at CPL—co-created, co-imagined, within this foundational premise: When we change how we gather, we change what’s possible.

What was the process of the AoC Re-Envisioning Team?

During the Essential Conversation we will explore the wholly collaborative process the Re-envisioning Team engaged in including the “Re-envisioning Whiteboard” (below) as designed by AoC Re-Envisioning Team members Brent Schmidt, Strategic Fuel, with Kim Kristenson-Lee, Labyrinth Leadership

What has emerged from the AoC
Re-Envisioning Team?

A new understanding of the Art of Convening as a life practice and “north star” of knowing that being in right relationship is the beginning of collaborations that are creative and sustainable.

A new AoC web presence including:

  • A redesigned AoC main landing page on the CPL website

  • A redesigned Introduction to Convening online, self-directed course

  • An online, self-directed course called Make Meetings Great designed for use by organizations

  • A free, online AoC Field Guide that provides an introduction to the AoC

  • AoC programs which apply to 5 key areas of leadership (see the image below)
